Behavior Consultant, Experienced and Entry Level
Part Time (up to 30 hours) – 2 positions open for 2025
We are seeking a professional who can successfully work with a variety of behavior issues, including aggression to people and aggression to other pets. Our experienced behavior professionals support and mentor entry level training staff.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with other team members to provide clients with high quality, force free and fear free behavior assessments and behavior modification plans.
Conduct behavior assessments and training lessons for a variety serious dog behavior issues, including aggression to people and aggression to other pets.
Develop and implement training plans that follow the ethical guidelines of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Use of e-collars, prong collars, or “balanced” approaches in a training plan is not an acceptable standard of care for our clients.
Desired education and skills
Empathetic rapport building with clients seeking help at often very stressful times in their lives.
Preference given to candidates with certification through a reputable organization that teaches the principles of ethical, humane, positive reinforcement training.
In lieu of certification, will consider equivalent education in psychology, animal behavior or a related field including familiarity with learning theory, operant and classical conditioning.
Comfort with public speaking, including presentation of formal education programs.
Competence in written communication skills.
Other requirements
Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance for local position.
Reliable desktop or laptop computer and mobile phone.
Professional Dog Trainer
Full Time – 2 open positions for 2025
We are seeking professional Dog Trainers who can carry out training plans for a variety of behavior issues. People in this position work closely with experienced trainers, carrying out behavior modification and training plans for clients with puppies, adolescent dogs, and dogs with behavior issues.
Key responsibilities
Work collaboratively with other team members to provide clients with high quality, force free and fear free training.
Conduct one-on-one training sessions with client dogs in their homes and in public locations.
Conduct group training classes for clients with puppies and adolescent dogs.
Provide feedback and support to clients on their dog's progress
Maintain accurate records of training sessions and progress
Requirements
Must be able to follow the ethical guidelines of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers - use of e-collars, prong collars, or “balanced” approaches in a training plan is not an acceptable standard of care for our clients
Experience working with a variety of dog breeds and sizes
Preference will be given to candidates with certification through a reputable organization that teaches the principles of ethical, humane, positive reinforcement training
In lieu of certification, will consider equivalent education in psychology, animal behavior or a related field including familiarity with learning theory, operant and classical conditioning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking in classes
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Dog Concierge
Part Time – 1 open position for 2025
We are seeking a friendly, mild mannered canine (and their human) for this unique, part time position. As a Dog Concierge you will serve as a helper dog to our client dogs. You must bring your human along to work with you.
Our Dog Concierges are a crucial part of our training programs. They allow our client dogs to practice new skills around an unfamiliar dog that will not become unruly or be unpredictable. They help our clients build confidence by practicing new skills in a safe environment.
Dogs in this position work closely with experienced trainers. They follow directions to sit, lie down or walk at a distance from our client dogs. At all times they must maintain their composure and avoid jumping up on people or whining and barking at other dogs.
Responsibilities
Assist with behavior assessments and training sessions by walking with your human past client dogs at a distance.
Your human must be aware of surroundings to monitor for loose or stray dogs and cats.
Requirements for you (the dog)
Must be able to be around other dogs and strangers (within 10 feet) and not react (whining, barking, lunging, or pulling)
Must be comfortable with a variety of common noises found in neighborhoods and city streets.
Use walking and safety equipment that is consistent with Fear Free and Force Free standards of training (for example, no prong collars, shock collars or retractable leashes).
Must be comfortable in different weather conditions and environments
Must be fully vetted/up to date with vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies)
Must have a human who accompanies you throughout work hours.
Requirements for your human
Able to transport you to client sessions on time.
Available to work evenings and weekends
Treats all animals humanely, with compassion and concern
Has a commitment to a high standard of safety and willingness to comply with all safety rules
Willing to follow instructions about dog handling that is consistent with positive reinforcement training (for example, no leash "pops", forcing dog into position, hitting or yelling dog)
Schedule
Company hours are 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday thru Friday; 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday
Popular times clients request are 6:00pm evenings and Saturdays
